FG Launches Programme To Improve Living Conditions of Citizens

The Federal Government in its quest to further improve human development in the nation, has hosted an international forum to launch the ECOWAS Integrated Regional Human Capital Development Strategy.

The conference was chaired by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, and took place in Abuja on Thursday June 23, 2022.

It had in attendance leaders in the public and private sectors across the ECOWAS sub-region, reviewing strategies on human capital development, while the launch of the integrated strategy document will was the highpoint of the event.

Other partners participating in the forum include the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office; the World Bank; Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and Aliko Dangote Foundation, among others.

Prof. Osinbajo noted that Nigeria’s “National Economic Council (NEC) has done a lot of work on Human Capital Development, focusing on various challenges including questions around out of school and healthcare access.”

On his part, the Prime Minister extolled the leadership qualities of President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, stating that “what the President of Nigeria and Vice President are doing inspires us too.”
