Plateau state governor Simon Lalong has restated his commitment to complete works at the Jos Stadium along Zaria road.
The governor stated this on Monday at the Tee off of the Golf kitty at the Lamingo Golf Club Jos as part of activities to mark Nigeria s independence day.
He said that the stadium was one of the legacies he would love to leave behind at the completion of his tenure.
He explained that the work on the stadium was delayed because of the COVID 19 pandemic and other economic challenges in the country.
Lalong further explained that a new contractor for the project would be engaged to continue works for the completion.
“The new contractor has come to buy off the debt and complete the Jos stadium. Am hoping in the next few weeks we will be able to complete negotiations and take over the completion of the stadium” he said.
Lalong assured Plateau people that his administration was determined to support sports development in the state especially at the grassroots.
