FG Launches Special Agro-Industrial Zone Programme
The Federal Government has established the Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zone Programme (SAPZ Programme) to help in food production, end unemployment and be able to export food to other nations.
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo SAN while inaugurating the five year programme, said he is extremely optimistic that this initiative will deal a fatal blow to hunger in less than a year.
The SAPZ programme is a five year programme, being implemented by the Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) in partnership with the African Development Bank (AfDB), the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), State Governments and private investors.
This initiative is currently in seven (7) participating states which are Kano, Imo, Kaduna, Cross River, Kwara, Oyo and Ogun and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT)
