BREAKING: IG seals Plateau LGs’ secretariats.

The Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba, has ordered the sealing of all the 17 local government area secretariats in Plateau State.
The Plateau State Commissioner of Police, Bartholomew Onyeka, disclosed this on Thursday, in a statement, signed by the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Alabo Alfred.
The statement claimed that the action was to prevent a breakdown of law and order following tension that arose over the appointment of new leadership in the affected council areas by the state governor, Caleb Mutfwang.
The PUNCH reports that the state governor, Caleb Mutfwang, suspended last week all the chairmen in the local government areas of the state alongside the councillors to pave the way for investigations following allegations of financial impropriety levelled against them by the state legislature.
They were later replaced by the governor with interim management committees to run the affairs in the council areas but the former council officials who were all members of the All Progressives Congress had rejected their suspension and vowed to remain in their offices.
